Missing Windows 7 64-bit support. The support site is almost all in english... March 30, 2010 S. Trudel (Canada) It's too bad that it does not support Windows 7 64-bit. The support site must be reviewed to have at least English instructions...
It's great, WHEN IT WORKS!!! March 16, 2010 Charles S. De Rycke (Nashville, TN) The Windy31;
It seemed to be just what i needed. I have a desktop PC and 2 different laptop computers. I connect to the net using a USB727 modem on Verizon Wireless and wanted to connect with the laptops, while in the livingroom.
For under $50, Amazon delivered a Windy31 to me. Setup was real easy and it worked great, for about an hour. Then it went dead.
I contacted Amazon for a replacement. They were great. They even had UPS come to my house & pick up the dead one, for free.
Windy31 #2 worked for about 20 days before it too died. I returned the second one for a refund. Also made very easy by Amazon.
On with the review.
Setup is easy, but it has to be done every time the computer boots up (I normally shut down my PC at night). Some others have said the signal is good, as far away as 200ft. I could barely connect at 30ft. While not perfect, it did what I wanted it to do. I'd still be using it, if it hadn't died.
Both of the ones I received, died without warning, in a very short time.
I wouldn't recommend buying Windy31.

Yet another gadget I did not use. I tried it but it does try to install stuff on the host machine.
Perfect for simple wireless network February 8, 2010 T. C. (Atlanta, GA) Works perfectly "out of the box" to make desktop internet connection wireless. Only problems I have had were when I tried to change the settings. Portable, easy to travel with. No additional software. Everything is on the device.
Lan Card Okay, Gatway No Way November 28, 2009 Michael Russell (Springdale, AR) 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
I really wish that I could have gotten this promising device to work. The wireless LAN seemed to work fine; it picked up several wireless hotspots in my area.
I was never able to get the wireless gateway to work. I disabled all my firewalls, tried having windows assign IP address, tried assigning IP addresses manually, and even downgraded from Vista to XP SP3 to try to get this device to work. Every attempt failed.
I followed the (poorly translated) directions in the instruction booklet to the letter and even tried to find help on their website. If you go to windy31.com, you will see that there are tens of technical support questions on their forums but only 3 replies from customer support staff.
I wasted the better part of a weekend trying to get this thing to work.
